The beach where the accident happened

Two Shenyang tourists died after being stung by a poisonous jellyfish in a famous beach the Golden Sand Beach at port Bayuquan of Yingkou, a city in the eastern coastal province of Liaoning.

The Hushang Morning Post said yesterday that a 44-year-old lady from Shenyang and a 9-year-old girl, also from Shenyang, were sung while swimming in the Golden Sand Beach at port Bayuquan, on August 5 afternoon and died on August 7 as medics both in Yingkou and Shenyang tried to save their lives.

According to the reporter, there is no charge for admission to the Golden Sand Beach, so no one is responsible for the administration of the beach. Tourists were not aware of there having been poisonous jellyfish.

Though, the local fishermen said that this type of jellyfish is very rare, the county officals in the city has warned swimmers in the area to be remain vigilant of dangerous marine stingers especially during rainy season.
