Located at east side of Shenyang Municipal Government Square, Liaoning Great Theatre is the cultural and art facility with greatest investment by Liaoning province since establishment of our state. The total architectural area is 30000 m2. The outside design adopts the shape of Yuzhu Dragon which was unearthed in West Liaoning area and represents Hongshan culture, and the inside adornment design is solemn and graceful.

The Great Theatre has complete functions, and consists of big theatre, small theatre, movie hall, multi-purpose hall, dining hall, bar, rehearsal hall, necessary apartment for actors, and underground parking lot. Among them, big theatre has altogether 1276 seats, used for Ballet, opera, symphony, large-scale entertainment evening party, traditional opera, etc; small theatre consists of 300 seats, used for performance of stage play in small theatre, song and dance drama, and chamber music. The big and small theatres are composed of two levels of auditoriums, and the proportion between two auditoriums is designed according to harmony of sense of hearing, visual sense and other aspects. The big theatre has a broad stage, an orchestra pot with seating capacity of 100, a giant rotary, lift, extension stage, first-class lights and stereo set, which represent the highest standard among theatres in Shenyang and Liaoning area. Besides, various all-size rehearsal halls, scenery designing rooms, and make-up rooms can be used for all kinds of domestic and foreign art ensembles for rehearsal and performance use.

In order to clearly pass the musical note resembling floating clouds and running streams to spectators, the great theatre emphasize on architectural acoustics in adornment project, and demands reverberation time to be 1.4 second, and wholly removes environment and equipment noises.After practical examination, it reaches the former designing standard, and creates good tone quality propagation condition for various artistic performances.
